Interesting . . .
Some of you may know her. A former BHS-er becomes one of Bush's recess appointments. What do you need checks and balances for anyway? What do you need a constitution for? There's terrorists out there you know.
All Presidents use the recess appointment process. Clinton did it over 100 times and with more controversial people than this. Reagan was a major "proponent" of the process, using it almost 250 times in eight years.
Tracy was in my class at B.H.S. and I can say that I for one am very pleased to see someone of her caliber and integrity attain this type of personal success.
I am certain that it is without question that her utilization of connections and fortune of timing helped her attain the position. Knowing her personally, I can see how she was able to gain bipartisan respect. I'm sure she just goes in and gets the job asked of her done.
It is amazing the slander in politics such as the comments by P.J. Crowley in regards to "risk of seeing another Mike Brown".
Although I haven't spoken to Tracy since our 10 yr H.S. reunion, I knew her from as far back as I can remember in school and sat by her in many classes.
I'm sure she will do as good of a job if not better than most of the boneheads in government today. She's one smart gal and a good person.
Seemed like stiff Al's problem was that every time he opened his mouth to defend himself, he came across as whining and did himself more harm than good. Didn't help him that he was trying to use the dad on Alf as a running mate.
Well, actually most of the whining was created by the RNC and the media. Senator Gore is an honorable man mistreated by the system we use to elect our leaders. He served long and worked hard on behalf of the people of Tennessee and the United States. It will be to our historic discredit that we elected the current President instead of Al Gore.
"father of the internet", phewy. What was with the Abe Lincoln beard? In general, he reminded me of a weeney superman. All rigid, but unsure of himself. The TV debate from Wash U killed him. What's Al up to these days?
And is SweetLou going to try to win Harrah's Lucky Break or not?
I'm reading John Grisham's book The Broker right now. Interesting timing with the current lobbyist scandals.
See? You just proved my point. Al Gore never said that he invented the internet. But you and a millions of others believe that he did. What a joke our media has become.
I'm not saying he's just along for the ride. I'm just saying he's a worthless pile of flesh that I don't have the energy to hate. It'd be like hating my moles. Yeah, they're worthless. Yeah, I wouldn't mind getting rid of them. But I don't really hate them.

Yeah, see - everyone is doing it! That makes it right.
It was really awesome to do it with the ambassador to the UN. That was great!
If they hadn't done it with Bolton, it wouldn't even be an issue. That was wrong.

Man, if you think that was slander you should see what they did Al Gore.

I don't hate George Bush. He's not really driving the car. He's pretty much along for the ride like the rest of us.
I do hate what the administration has done, the way they flout the constitution.
I also hate the Cubs.
