That's a Winner!!

The picture is from Thursday night, but the result remains the same. What a postseason! How about David Eckstein winning the Series MVP? No one deserves it more.

I will post some more about my trip to the World Series this weekend. But for now, Go Crazy Folks! Go Crazy!

Unbelievable!! I couldn't sit down for the last three innings. The only difference between the '82 ending and the '06 ending was that Wainwright finished him off with an offspeed pitch...Sutter's was a high fastball. Result the same...reaction the same.

I'm putting a David Eckstein jersey on my Christmas list. It's either that or the nice, bright, yellow Vette.

How about the defensive play with Pujols and Weaver?? There was no mistaking the fact that Weaver tagged first. He removed the chance to be "Denkingered", but he almost waited too long to stomp on the bag.

This news just released from Detroit...Tom Emanski has been added to the coaching staff of the Tigers. He will be working exclusively with the pitchers during the first week of Spring Training.

Maybe my stomach will settle down now. I'm certain is was the action of the Series that had me in knots, but it could also have been sitting through the games waiting to hear the next insightful, cliche-ridden babble that was going to come out of Tim McCarver next. I'm not sure what Fox pays Joe Buck, but it isn't enough.

Was it just me or did Jered Weaver look good wearing all of that Cardinal gear?

Only 111 days until pitchers and catchers report.

Jared Weaver looked fantastic in all that Cardinals garb. I wonder what the Angels execs thought when they saw him in it.

Update of of my old favorite joke:

What's the difference between the Cubs and Cardinals?

The Cardinals have won a World Series in their new stadium.

Now we can start using the 'R' word...REPEAT. If we are going to do that, Walt has his job cut out for him.

1. Can we (or more appropriately, do we want to) sign Suppan and Weaver? Their performances during the playoffs raised their asking price.

2. We must have a consistent bat(s) behind Pujols. Edmonds and Rolen (and Pujols) need to be healthy coming into Spring Training.

3. As noted by past posts, Encarnacion must either fix his swing or get comfortable sitting next to Gary Bennett. Or just go away.

4. Mark Mulder??

I wouldn't talk of repeat until a deal with Edmonds is done. They're liable to screw that up.

Walt needs a big bat for sure. What about second base? I'd like to see them bring Belliard back.

Ditto on Belliard. Wondered about him when he first arrived, but convinced both his D and Bat are above the average the Cafrds have gotten the last few years.

Edmonds. Sign him. He's a team leader and Cards veteran now. Not to mention his own ability. 36, give him a 3 yr deal.

Encarnacion - bye bye. Keep Spezio and So. Duncan? Preston Wilson?
Suppan - Sign.
Weaver - hmm, did we bring out his best and was it just something to prove or can he really be consistent?
Keep the infield the same. As ususal, biggest oppty, solidify pitching. Carpenter, Suppan, Kinney, Wainright. Izzy who?
