Unforgivable

First the administration lies to send the troops to war. Then they don't protect them.

1. Another example of too much bueracracy.
2. Should the Cougar design be claimed in an eminent domain fashion during time of war and production widespread amongst many companies vs. one small company that has never mass produced? Think of WWII when the use of steel was forgone in all commercial uses in support of the war effort. The impression I have of WWII is that those here at home in the states had forgone many things in an all out effort to support the boys at war.
3. Are you familiar with nanotechnology? Although the armor is needed now, nanotechnology is an interesting field. With scientific advances in this field, there may be ultra thin (lightweight) armor developments with strength integrity much greater than ceramic. An engineer from Boeing was telling me (several years ago) about a similar concept for face shields for helmets for guys on aircraft carriers so they wouldn't be killed by any ricochets from steel cables or debris when jets would take off and land. Doesn't do any good until it's here though and I bet the guys hanging jock cups under their arms could give a rat's ass about the talk of such things. They need something now.
