Summary of George's stupidity: They don't care about the environment. They're just Commies!
What a tool. I can't believe I used to read everything this guy wrote. If I wrote a column saying everyone who's for drilling in the ANWR is a facist, George would be as pissed as I am.
You two should be used to such uniique commentary - you've been listening to a similar style for years. The more I read this, the more it seemed he was like Mike Shannon. The longer he went, the more inebriated he became.
The problem is that we live in a country heavily influenced by oil. Two choices...find your own (ANWR?) or make friends with the Middle East.
How about a serious government initiatve to find alternatives fuels, alternative modes of transportation, etc? George acts like environmentalists invented oil shortage, but less than 50 years from we will be running out completely.
Drilling for that oil is a short term solution to a long term problem, like staying home from school because you don't want to take the test that day. You have to face the music at some point and as Andy succinctly points out, there are those who want the quickest and easiest solution available because it will make them wealthy, increase their popularity, and leave the dirty work for future generations, long after they are dead.
