Game Seven

There is nothing like a game seven. Of course, I was really hoping they'd pull it out in six. Grab your lucky penny. Squeeze your rabbit foot. Put on your lucky hat and your lucky socks. I'm also going to pick up a lucky six-pack.

We can't complain about the pitching matchup tonight. I hope Suppan can do it again.

It's going to be a long day.

I hope we can jump on Perez early so that I can hear Joe Buck say, "We have activity in the Mets bullpen. It looks like Steve Trachsel and Darren Oliver have begun to loosen."

If Suppan doesn't have his stuff tonight, this may turn into a slowpitch softball score. Of course, Rob Neyer is predicting a double no-hitter. According to Neyer, of the 94 pitchers to start a game 7, Perez's career winning percentage of .411 is 94th best and his career ERA of 4.67 is the 93rd best. Don't start dancing yet...coming in at 92nd on the career ERA list is Suppan (4.60).

Ol' Abner's done it again

It was so much sweeter to win in 7 games. Striking out Beltran with the bases loaded was icing on that sweet-tasting cake.
